About Dan

Dan

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this blog.

A little background on myself, I am 25 and until I met Kim my love life was a complete cavalcade of misery. If you’re lucky I will tell you some of the heart-breaking tales at some point. At university I studied Film Production which lead to several positions for companies such as Sky One and the BBC. After falling out of love with London I moved back home to be closer to friends and family. Having realised that even if you are doing the job you love, if you don’t have friends or family nearby then the success is worthless.

I have lived quite a life in my 25 years so far. I became the British Kickboxing Champion almost by accident, been taken to Tranny Bingo on a first date and went on a ‘Lad Holiday’ to Magaluf on my own. You’ll hear all about these at some point..

In terms of Kim and I, we are one of the new generation of couples who met online but our story is a little more complicated than that.

Several years ago one of us followed the other on Twitter, over the few years we spoke a few times but nothing more than general chit chat. In January 2014 we started speaking every day over Twitter and Facebook. For the first few months I don’t think either of us knew exactly what we were looking for, if anything more than a friendship.

Over the next year we met several times but nothing was really set in stone. As Christmas came around we had amassed 48,000 text messages as well as an average of 2-3 hours on the phone each day, every day. Couple this with the substantial Christmas presents we gave each other and it was the final confirmation that we were destined to be more than friends. Kim gave me a Tottenham shirt signed by the entire team!

We became a couple on the 6th January 2015.

To be honest, we have backdated our anniversary to the date we first met (12th September) as with Christmas, New Year, both birthdays and Valentine’s Day falling within a matter of weeks, it made sense to spread a date to a different part of the year. Certainly for something we will celebrate every year.

After many hours spent travelling to see each other over an 18 month period, in July 2015, Kim moved into my parents home with myself. Currently we are towards Christmas with the plan being to get through the holidays and put the wheels in motion to purchase our first house together towards Summer 2016.

We are both very creative people and we wanted the opportunity to write informative but generally irrelevant articles relating to ourselves and areas we have knowledge within.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this blog. We very much hope you enjoy it.

Dan.
